The UK Criminal Law Opt-out: A Challenging Opportunity for Poland
This bulletin discusses the UK’s decision to opt-out from EU laws on criminal matters and the resulting challenges for Polish–British relations. The author explains that the decision to opt-out of EU criminal law cooperation will mean an agenda for reform of the European Arrest Warrant, which will be met unenthusiastically by Poland as it issues the highest number of warrants. The commentary explains how the two countries can resolve differences on this matter, which could improve bilateral relations.
