Mediating Today's Armed Conflicts: Dilemmas, Trends and Approaches

In this audio presentation from the 2013 International Security Forum, three experts discuss the nature of peace mediation and how it has changed over time. In exploring this theme, they also use specific case studies to illustrate the practical challenges still involved in mediation and what their potential solutions might be. (Note: The speakers include Marie-Joëlle Zahar from the Standby Team of Mediation Experts at the Department of Political Affairs, UN; Julian Thomas Hottinger from the Human Security Division, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Switzerland; and Patricia Johnson, formerly from Interpeace.)
