Communities of Practice
The ISN actively supports communities of practice that promote education and knowledge exchange in the field of international relations and security.
The ISN actively engages in communities of practice with the aim of improving training and education in the security sector and the wider academic domain.
The ISN works towards these goals by engaging various communities of practice, including the Advanced Distributed Learning Working Group (ADL WG), part of the NATO PfP Consortium.
Advanced Distributed Learning Working Group
The Advanced Distributed Learning Working Group (ADL WG) is a community of practice that actively supports defense and security policy education in Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) countries (i.e. Partnership for Peace (PfP) and NATO countries).
The ADL WG establishes best practices on the use of e-learning within defense and security education policies. The working group’s focus includes:
- Instructional design and learning didactics
- Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) courses
- The establishment of common and internationally shared e-learning courseware
