The ISN provides a range of technologies and software components for the production and deployment of online courses and learning materials in the field of international relations and security.
ISN offers the following e-learning technologies: ILIAS Learning Management System (LMS), SCORM 2004 Runtime Engine (RTE) and SCORM 2004 Editor.
ILIAS LMS
ILIAS LMS is an open source, web-based learning management system (LMS). It supports learning content management (including SCORM 2004 compliance) and tools for collaboration, communication, evaluation and assessment. The software is published under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and can be run on any server that supports PHP and MySQL.
SCORM 1.2 / SCORM 2004 RTE
The SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 RTE (run time engine) software is integrated into the ILIAS LMS under the GPL licence. SCORM (sharable content object reference model) is a collection of standards and specifications for web-based e-learning launched by the Office of the United States Secretary of Defence. The SCORM RTE ensures the interoperability, accessibility and reusability of web-based learning content.
SCORM 2004 Editor
The SCORM 2004 Editor is a collaborative, standards-compliant e-learning content editing tool. The editor is due to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2008. The software for the SCORM 2004 editor is integrated into the ILIAS LMS under the GPL licence.
