What skills or experience should applicants highlight when applying?
There are a couple of core qualities we look for: fluency (or near fluency) in the English language, a high degree of IT literacy, knowledge of current affairs and a strong work ethic. The latter is particularly important. ISN interns are not expected to make tea and sort the mail. For the duration of the internship they are treated as regular ISN staff. In other words, we expect them to share our burdens and capitalize on the opportunities offered by our organization. In our experience, what interns get out of the ISN is directly proportional to what they put in.
