Anaemic Ascent: Why China's Currency is Far from Global
This paper contends that China’s size and its relatively optimistic long-term economic outlook means that the renminbi has the potential to play a more active role in international trade. However, near- to mid-term economic challenges and political obstacles are likely to prevent the renminbi from acquiring major reserve currency status.
