A Tamed Struggle for Influence: The Future of US-China Relations
This paper attempts to define what the military relationship between China and the United States might look like by 2025. Will they be embroiled in an overt competition for power or will they have forged a cooperative relationship? If elements of competition and cooperation overlap, which aspects will prevail and to what degree? To answer these questions and others, the paper combines international relations theory and empirical data on the relative power each state has.
