Election Reform in Pakistan
This report argues that political stability in Pakistan will only be achieved after the country takes the historic step of staging a free and fair election that transfers power from one elected government to another. To hasten this eventuality, the international community should make it abundantly clear to the Pakistani Armed Forces that it would oppose any attempts to derail a fair and transparent election cycle. At the same time, Pakistan's political parties need to work together to ensure that their election processes remain credible and sustainable.
