Main Features of the Operational and Tactical Leadership in the Estonian War of Independence (1918–1920)
This article deals with the Estonian War of Independence from an operational and tactical perspective, and reflects the contemporary tactical and operational understanding and views of the Estonian Armed Forces. In the study the future operational perspectives and challenges for conflict in Estonian conditions are stressed: the importance of adequate and properly trained staff personnel, the importance of good reconnaissance and communications, developing a sound organization, and the effective use of reserves in case a nation faces long fronts and limited forces.
