Countering Violent Extremism: Lessons from the Abrahamic Faiths
This paper analyzes extremism across the Abrahamic faiths. Specifically, it explores Christianity in the US, Judaism in Israel and Islam in the United Kingdom. The report addresses religious ideology, extremist recruitment and the pathway to violence, and formulates various policy recommendations. The report concludes that civil society, religious leaders, and faith communities - and not governments - have the bigger role to play in countering violent extremism.
