Politics of Arms Trade Treaty Negotiations
In this paper, the author points out that multiple interactions are shaping negotiations for the making of an Arms Trade Treaty that may result in diverse imbalances in the international community. Referring to the potential disadvantages in case of the lack of a robust treaty, the author emphasizes that the treaty needs to be capable of addressing existing and perceived threats of the world; at the same time, it should be flexible enough to meet emerging security challenges.
