Political Protest in Central Asia
Potentials and Dynamics
This paper examines the likelihood of political protests in several Central Asian countries, such as Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The authors argue that, to date, the likelihood of political protest in the region remains small. However, that does not mean that social change in the region is permanently on hold.
