The Outer Space Treaty: Then and Now
This chapter looks at the Outer Space Treaty (OST) on the occasion of its 40th anniversary. The author examines the context of its conclusion and its impact in the following years. After four decades of the Treaty's existence, he identifies an urgent need for a comprehensive review of the OST in order to better utilize its potential and strengthen its role and authority.
