Case Studies of Seven Countries in Southern Africa
This publication reviews the varied dimensions of human security using case studies from seven Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries. The authors discuss major issues including poverty reduction and human security in Zambia, conflict resolution and election results in Zanzibar, and physical security concerns during elections in Zimbabwe. They also discuss children and youth security issues in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the impact of livestock theft on the dynamics of violence in Lesotho.
