Najib Tun Razak

This policy brief discusses the decision by Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Najib Razak, to repeal his nation’s Internal Security Act (ISA) because of concerns that it curtailed personal freedoms. The author argues that despite the replacement of the ISA with a new act, the fundamental rights and freedoms of Malaysians are still not protected. The author goes on to propose alternative ideas to address this deficiency.
