The Politics of Environmental Policy with a Himalayan Example
This paper discusses the politics behind environmental policy formulation. The authors use the Himalayan region as the basis for a detailed case study. The paper details how scientists, statesmen and citizens in the Himalayas must usually confront a unique set of environmental challenges and political legacies. The authors explain that based on the Himalayan example, updated scientific research has not always resulted in revised political policies.
