The Road Towards China’s Integration Into an International Emissions Trading System
This paper focuses explicitly on evaluating the possible integration of China in a future international emission trading scheme (ETS), because there is currently an emerging debate on the pros and cons of establishing a domestic carbon emissions trading system in China. Using this window of opportunity to influence the institutional setup of a Chinese domestic ETS eases a potential future integration of the Chinese system in an international ETS.
