This collection of papers originates from the Stimson Center's Indian Ocean Rising Project and explores the many policy challenges and opportunities facing the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea regions, both of which are emerging as central theaters of 21st century geopolitics. The topics are wide-ranging; they focus on maritime security policies, tackling maritime piracy, the build-up of naval power in the Indian Ocean and much more.
