Women Empowerment Project in Pakistan

This paper analyzes the effects of increasing female labor force participation on welfare and society in Pakistan. The numbers involved are large enough to make a difference not only to the women’s overall welfare but have also begun to change the social and political landscape in the country. The paper suggests that this change is coming about as a result of developments in three areas: Education, employment and entrepreneurship. The author argues that this trend will profoundly affect the way Pakistani society functions, the way its economy will run and the manner in which its political order will evolve.
