The Long Shadow of the Wall on Europe's Economy
The economic consequences of the wall are still visible twenty years after its fall. East Germany is still visibly different from West Germany: income per capita remains much lower and unemployment much higher in the so-called 'neue Länder'. But the fall of the wall also had much wider consequences.
