"Low Yield" Nuclear Experiments
Should They Be Permitted Within a Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty?
This paper examines the nuclear weapons testing policy of the United States. The author examines the requirements of nuclear weapons, evaluates methods of ensuring their safety, security and reliability, and assesses the political landscape in which decisions are being made. The paper concludes that the US should pursue a Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty that permits "low yield" nuclear experiments.
