Plastic model of Iraqi regions

On September 21, 2011, The INSS Center for Strategic Research conducted a conference on the challenges of federalism in Iraq. The purpose was to move beyond the ethnic and sectarian lens and examine the implications of federalism on governance, economic development and security across sectors and regions. In doing so, the conference identified the strengths and weaknesses of Iraqi federalism and policy options for the US, particularly as it withdraws its military forces from the country.
