Transparency in the Arms Industry
This paper examines the current state of transparency in the arms production industry. The focus is on the public availability of information on company arms sales. The author surveys the variations and gaps in transparency practice, speculates on their reasons, and makes the case for explicit and binding norms and voluntary disclosure. A case study of the arms industry in South Korea illustrates the findings of this paper.
