Emerging North–South Tensions and Prospects for a Return to War

The author focuses on the succession movement in the south and the strain it has on south-north relations. The report concludes that lack of economic transparency in terms of oilfield revenues and future elections on the succession jeopardize the peace process and increase the likelihood of armed conflict along the borderlands.
