Broadening Horizons: Climate Change and the US Armed Forces
Addressing the dual pressures of climate change and energy analyzed in this report will require the Department of Defense, US armed services and combatant commands to explore how they might plan and adapt, help partner nations around the world adapt, and mitigate climate-changing greenhouse gas emissions. It examines how climate change is likely to affect the military services as well as the national security implications of climate change on regional combatant commands.
