Maritime Security: Coast Guard Needs to Improve Use and Management of Interagency Operations Centers
This paper discusses how the US coastguard uses and manages interagency operations centers. The US Coast Guard is responsible for establishing Interagency Operations Centers (IOC) to share maritime information with the Coast Guard’s port partners. To facilitate IOCs, the Coast Guard is implementing an information-management and sharing system called WatchKeeper. This report assesses the implementation of IOCs and WatchKeeper.
