Russia's Pragmatic Reimperlization
This paper discusses Russian authorities and their policy of 'pragmatic reimperialization' to restore Moscow's regional dominance. It reviews the policy as an effort to undermine US global influence, divide the NATO alliance, neutralize the EU and limit further NATO and EU enlargement. It also contends this is an effort to re-establish zones of "privileged interest" in the former Soviet bloc, where pliant governments are targeted through economic, political, and security instruments.
