Iraq: Searching for Stability in an Unstable Region

This is a transcript of a discussion concerning the analysis of the domestic, regional and international factors which contribute to build the idea of why Iraq is considered an important player to ensure the stability of the Middle East region. The speakers convene that domestic and regional elements, as Iraq’s domestic tensions, sectarian feelings, political inconsistencies, negative views of power sharing by political parties in Iraq, the high level of corruption, the regional pressures and the regional instability and the so called Arab spring, are real challenges for the political process in Iraq, still considered a junior democracy.
