Energy and Power in China
Domestic Regulation and Foreign Policy
This publication discusses energy consumption and demand in China. The author suggests that the most important international impacts of China's energy use will lie in the changing patterns of domestic energy use and the efficiency of China's power sector. The key policy finding is that further regulatory changes in China's domestic energy market are necessary as to avoid inefficient outcomes, which will have real consequences for energy market operations. The author explains that therefore the US, EU and UK should continue their effort for promoting more efficient energy use by China.
