Armed Conflicts in South Asia 2012
Sixth Annual Conference
In the sixth annual conference on the Armed Conflicts in South Asia, the spotlight was on the peace processes in the region in the year 2011 against the backdrop of armed conflicts. This conference report attempts to address the unease with the dearth of positive peace in spite of the conclusion of armed conflicts in South Asia, especially in Jammu and Kashmir, Nepal and Sri Lanka. According to the authors, this signifies the shift from previous research which had its strict focus on armed conflicts to an assessment of the promises and threats of transformation. Another novelty is the inclusion of Myanmar within the purview of South Asia.
