Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Labour Rights in the People's Republic of China
This brief examines China's emerging policies on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and labor rights. According to the author, the activities undertaken to strengthen CSR and labor rights indicate a reorientation of China's central government. However, this trend is still very much in its infancy in terms of practical application. External actors such as UN agencies, multinational corporations and bilateral development cooperation institutions are in a position to support these processes. The author also identifies still-relevant areas of activities for Sino-German development cooperation.
