The European Union and Its Changing Neighbourhood: Stabilisation, Integration, Partnership
This paper analyzes the EU's policies towards the regions and countries on its geographic periphery. The author explains how the EU has used both an approach of regional stabilization and broad cooperation, as well as a policy of outright political integration to achieve its goals of regional security and European stability. The paper explains how a successful policy towards the geographic periphery is an important requirement for the European Union as an international actor.
