Developments in Northeast Asian Politics
This analysis presents insights from two former US diplomats on geopolitical change in Northeast Asia. The first contribution explores how US foreign policy in the Middle East causes Washington to neglect its interest in Northeast Asia, and addresses the ascendancy of China, North Korea’s nuclear brinksmanship, Russia’s regional role and stability in the Taiwan Strait. The second contribution explores geopolitical change in Northeast Asia with a focus on the US-Japan alliance.
