What are the Consequences of the AWG-Projections for the Adequacy of Social Security Pensions?
This paper integrates the projections of the EU's Ageing Working Group with assumptions on the adequacy of pensions in Europe. It describes MIDAS, a dynamic microsimulation model developed for Belgium, Germany and Italy in the context of a European-funded sixth framework project. The paper presents and discusses simulation results for these three countries as well as simulation results of two alternative policy scenarios.
