Space Activities and Governance and the Role of Regional Authorities: Belgium Case Study

This Perspective reviews Belgium’s space activities and governance, with a particular focus on the increasing stakes of the regional authorities. Regional authorities have increasing stakes in space affairs via their direct support to the upstream space manufacturing sector, but also thanks to the direct benefits they extract from the utilization of space-based services and applications in support of their policies.
