Ahead of the Status Decision: Kosovo Between New Violence and Volatile Peace
This publication examines options for resolving the dispute over Kosovo's final status. It provides a historical overview of the Kosovo region, outlines UN special representative Martti Ahtisaari's plan to resolve the final status question, and discusses the roles and responsibilities of both Russia and the EU. The author outlines three possible scenarios for Kosovo. He concludes with a reflection on Switzerland's contribution to stability in Kosovo.
