The Illicit Drug Industry as a Security Policy Challenge
This article discusses the impact of the illicit drug industry on international security policy. The author details how drug production, trafficking, and consumption undermines not only the security of states and individuals, but also adversely affects the global economy and environment. The article states that while many drug sector reformists argue in favor of a shift towards a harm reduction approach, no international consensus is in the offing and general drug problems continue to increase.
