Missile Defence Systems
Global and Regional Implications
This report summarizes the results of a workshop on missile defense systems. It looks at current missile defense capabilities and potential threats. Experts also explore military-technical and political-diplomatic responses to these identified threats. It further discusses US-centric threat perceptions and related missile capabilities, as well as president George W Bush’s legacy as it relates to missile defense systems in Europe. Finally, the authors examine the new context created for missile defense in Europe by the Georgia–Russia crisis.
