Center for Comparative and International Studies (CIS)
The Center for Comparative and International Studies (CIS) Zurich is a research center in the fields of comparative politics and international relations. Launched in 1997 as a joint initiative of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) and the University of Zurich, the CIS brings together researchers and teaching staff from the disciplines of government and comparative politics, international relations, security studies and conflict research. The CIS undertakes research on the challenges to democracy in the 21st century, encourages interdisciplinary cooperation and promotes public information in the fields of political science, international relations, policy analysis, security studies and conflict research.
