The Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) / Hessische Stiftung Friedens- und Konfliktforschung (HSFK) conducts research on the conflicts in the Balkans, Middle East and Asia. It also investigates the dangers of nationalism, the problems of European integration, the spread of weapons of mass destruction, environmental conflicts, terrorism and the impoverishment of large areas of the world. The Peace Research Institute aims to put forward proposals on how the causes of conflict can be recognized as early as possible, and on how violence can be prevented and how political control can be put in place for solving conflicts.
