Managing Tensions in the South China Sea: Policy Recommendations to Boost Cooperation
In this video, four experts discuss the ongoing disputes in the South China Sea region, the actors involved in them, and the policies they might want to pursue in order to resolve their differences. The latter could include enacting a code of conduct for the area, pursuing joint development projects, or mimicking the treaty provisions that resolved similar regional disputes elsewhere. (Note: The speakers include Bonnie Glaser from CSIS; Leonard Bernard from the Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore; and Christian Le Miere from the Defense and Military Analysis Program at the International Institute for Strategic Studies.)
