In this video, four experts discuss the current politics of the South China Sea region. More specifically, they address India's interests and its potential as a security provider; China's behavior in and around the region; the possibility of a maritime security coalition between Japan, the US and Australia; and ASEAN's attempts, spearheaded by Indonesia, to craft a code of conduct for the region. (Note: The speakers include Ambassador Hermant Krishan Singh from the Indian Council for Research on international Economic Relations; Vice Admiral Hideaki Kaneda (ret.), who is now the Director of the Okazaki Institute; Dr Carlyle Thayer, an emeritus professor from the University of New South Wales; and Dr Donald Emmerson from Stanford University.)
