Beyond Compliance: Nonproliferation and the Private Sector
In this video, Gretchen Hund and Andrew Kurzrok discuss the collaborative steps government and industry can take to prevent certain capabilities, products or techniques, such as those related to nuclear programs, from ending up in the wrong hands. They additionally talk about the incentives (mostly) and penalties governments can impose in these cases and the extent to which industry can monitor and regulate its own behavior. (Note: Both Hund and Kurzrok work at the US's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.)
