In this video, Neil deGrasse Tyson, who is the Director of the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium, talks about the purposes behind the US space program and why the latter needs continued funding. In Tyson's eyes, the purposes do indeed blend national aspirations with concrete economic, educational, research and security goals.
