Start Thinking Now About Transitional Justice in a Post-Transition North Korea
This commentary argues that international actors should make preparations for transitional justice in North Korea. To further this process, the authors detail the types of transitional justice that could be implemented as well as legal issues that require clarification, such as defining who would be prosecuted and whether they would be tried in domestic or international courts. Though governmental transition may be years away, the authors suggest such preparations could even save lives today.
