Okinawa – Look to Singapore!
This commentary argues that Okinawa should examine Singapore's economic model so as to alleviate economic concerns related to opposition to the US military base on the island. The paper suggests a number of policies that local authorities could adopt, such as business-friendly policies which focus on attracting investment and tourism to the island.
