Pakistan on the Afghan Reconciliation Process?
This brief examines the role of Pakistan in the Afghan peace and reconciliation process with the Taliban. As a lawless sanctuary to Taliban, Pakistan has the ability to play a constructive role in the peace and reconciliation process. The author analyzes the issue of whether it has the will and interest in doing so. He concludes that Pakistan shows no effective support toward an Afghan reconciliation and suggests the Afghan government undertake a strategy that does not give Pakistan more importance than it deserves.
