Detention Standards and Non-State Armed Groups

All armed groups capture or detain individuals, but it remains unclear what legal obligations, if any, non-state groups have when dealing with detainees. This policy brief explores the possibility of establishing a generic set of principles or guidelines that would define these responsibilities.
