Postliberal Democracy Emerging?
A Conceptual Proposal and the Case of Bolivia
Bolivian president Evo Morales
The present paper aims at developing a conceptual framework that enables systematic analyses of political change towards post-liberal democracy, in Latin America and beyond. It is probing the plausibility of this framework in a case study on Bolivia. On a country-specific level, it aims at demonstrating that the concept of post-liberal democracy helps us understand the contemporary transformation of democracy in Bolivia.
