A Ban on Destructive Anti-Satellite Weapons: Useful and Feasible
This chapter discusses the possibility of a ban on destructive anti-satellite (ASAT) weapons to preserve space security. The author presents benefits, content and possible verification mechanisms of such an agreement as well as additional, mutually reinforcing measures. She argues that a destructive ASAT weapon ban derives greater relevance and usefulness as part of a comprehensive regime of arms control measures, "rules of the road" and confidence-building measures.
